Job Description - Test Technician

Ultimate Staffing is actively seeking an experienced Test Technician to join their client's dynamic team in San Jose, CA. This is a temporary position with an opportunity to work in a high-performing environment where collaboration and customer focus are key. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing essential duties in the test area, including operating power supply test equipment and conducting electro-mechanical work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform HIPOT testing to meet customer specifications and daily requirements.
  • Collect, record, and analyze HIPOT test data.
  • Independently set up and operate HIPOT and other ATE systems.
  • Set up tests for top-assembly power supplies and conduct operational HIPOT testing.
  • Maintain and organize test equipment to ensure efficient, reliable operation.
  • Maintain and communicate up-to-date HIPOT testing schedules and downtime.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and comply with safety requirements.
  • Promote teamwork and help maintain a clean, friendly, respectful, and safe workplace.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and ability to multitask within defined time constraints.
  • Work on cable harnesses and perform mechanical assembly.
  • Work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to set up and perform bench or automated testing per work orders, test documentation, and engineering instructions.
  • Properly document all test results per established procedures.
  • Ability to work on cable harnesses and perform mechanical assembly.
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience.
  • Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills a plus (not required).
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and customers.
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or technical school preferred, or equivalent work-related experience.
  • Ability to continuously learn and adapt to changing requirements.
